Italian Carrier 1915. - In 1915 the Regia Marina decided to equip its fleet with a seaplane carrier vessel able to fulfill scouting and support duties. The 20 year old merchant ship "Quarto" was purchased and severely transformed to carry 8 planes in two hangars. The ship was renamed "Europa".
