HMS Penelope suffered a machinery breakdown in 1988, and collided with Canadian Supply sgip HMCS Preserver AOR 510 during a RAS. HMS Penelope caught the Preservers anchor cuttung the Port side open. Canadian vessel suffered $260,000 damage, whilst HMS Penelope was in th £millions.
