OnThisDay 1992 the 8th of 16 RoyalNavyType 23 (Duke Class) Frigates, HMSMontrose was launched on the Clyde. She is only the second RN ship to carry the name and though based in HMNB Devonport is currently dual crewed and forward deployed to the Gulf region for 4 years.
