Italian armed pontoon 'Valente' anchored in the Adriatic near Venice. Launched in 1916, the 'Valente' was a rather crude monitor type vessel, consisting of a 305 mm/46 Model 1909 naval gun installed on an old Austro-Hungarian self-propelled iron barge, captured in 1915.
