HMS Iron Duke out of dry dock in the Frigate Refit Centre, Devonport, and afloat in the basin - 2 years into her LIFEX refit in Devonport . She required more new steel to remedy structural issues than in any other previous Type 23 refit.

The floating crane ship, US Crane Ship No.1, sitting in dry dock on 3 October 1925. The crane ship was undergoing repairs and refit at the Boston Navy Yard. The ship still carries her former name "Kearsarge" on her stern. Originally the battleship USS Kearsarge (BB-5) pre-dreadnought.

Today in 1999, HMS Bangor was commissioned. She was the last RN Ship to be accepted in the 20th Century. Of the 12 RN Sandown Class Minehunters built only BANGOR remains in service as mine-hunting moves towards autonomous vessels from mother ships.
