115 years ago, shipbuilders from a Baltic shipyard launched Russia's first submarine, 'Lamprey', equipped with a diesel engine. In November 1908, a test dive took place at the quay wall , as a result of which it was decided to equip the boat with a lead keel to increase ballast. Two years later in October 1910, the submarine joined the Russian fleet. During the First World War, the Lamprey made 14 military campaigns. achieving no results, although it tried several times to attack enemy ships.
