HMS Glasgow, first of eight Type 26 Frigates, was moved from one dry dock into another at the BAE Systems yard in Scotstoun, Glasgow to make way for HMS Cardiff, the second of eight, soon leaving the BAE Sytems yard at Govan, Glasgow.

05 March 1999: at sea - USS Enterprise (CVN 65) (right) and USS Detroit (AOE 4) (center) conduct a replenishment-at-sea, as Nicholas (top left) begins her approach. Enterprise Battle Group is operating in the central Mediterranean Sea.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
