HMS Ranpura, a P & O passenger liner that was requisitioned at the start of WW II & converted into an Armed Merchant Cruiser. Built by R&W Hawthorn Leslie in 1924. On requisition fitted with 8 x 6" guns & 2 x 3" guns. ~Acted as a convoy escort untl sold to the Admiralty in 1943 then converted to a repair ship.Served as a fleet repair ship until 1961 when she was sold for scrap.
