OnThisDay 50 years ago in 1971 the first of 8 RoyalNavy Type 21 Frigates, HMS AMAZON, was launched. She served until 1993 when she was sold to the PakistanNavy serving as PNS Babur until 2015. Seen here breaking away from RFA Bayleaf (A109), a Leaf-class support tanker of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
