29 March 1919, Boston. Serving as a troop transport, battleship USS Nebraska (BB-14) arrives from Europe with combat veterans of American Expeditionary Force aboard. She will make 4 trips in total bringing home 4540 men.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
