HMS Rodney was one of two Nelson-class battleships built in the 1920's. They were uinique in British battleship construction, being the only ships to carry main armament of 16 inch guns, and the only ones to carry all the main armament forward of the Superstructure. Commissioned in 1927, HMS Rodney served extensively in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Oceon in WWII.
