On This Day in 1981, the last RMAS Paddle Tug Faithful, paid off. She served in several RoyalNavy bases and can be seen below in 1980 @HMNBDevonport with the old HMS ARK ROYAL laid up in the background.

Naval vessels from various countries, docked at Portsmouth Naval Base. Taking part in the International Fleet Review which was part of the Trafalgar 200 celebrations. 2005.
On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
