On this day in 2012 the Arctic Star medal is retrospectively approved for all of the RoyalNavy and Commonwealth men who served in the Russian Convoys. The convoys kept the Soviet forces supplied to continue the effort on the Axis forces from both fronts, in very hostile conditions
