On this day in 1914, the Super Dreadnought Battleship HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH was commissioned at HMNB Portsmouth. She served the RoyalNavy for 34 years and saw action in both world wars. Costing £3m in 1914 that roughly equates to £300m today.
