A few weeks ago, the Dmitry Donskoi (TK-208) marked 40 years anniversary since commissioning. The only remaining Typhoon class submarine is nowadays assigned to Belomorsk naval base in Severodvinsk and serves as a platform for testing of submarine weapons and new technologies to be implemented on other subs.
