HMS Illustrious entering Captain Cook Dry Dock, Garden City, Sydney, 1945, going in for a propeller change and attention to the rudder, before the dock was officially opened. F4U “Corsair” fighters on the flight deck.

Naval vessels from various countries, docked at Portsmouth Naval Base. Taking part in the International Fleet Review which was part of the Trafalgar 200 celebrations. 2005.
The Turkish Navy's TCG Alemdar submarine rescue mother ship on a visit to Plymouth leaving the Sound tonight. The vessel is designed to perform subsea and surface search and rescue missions under various sea conditions.
Today in 1999, HMS Bangor was commissioned. She was the last RN Ship to be accepted in the 20th Century. Of the 12 RN Sandown Class Minehunters built only BANGOR remains in service as mine-hunting moves towards autonomous vessels from mother ships.
