On this day 20 years ago in 2002, destroyer HMS Nottingham grounded on Wolf Rock off Australia. First rate Royal Navy damage control training combined with bravery of the crew & support from Australian Navy and then RNZN saved the ship. She was recovered & then repaired in the UK.
