XV (Experimental Vessel) Patrick Blackett will be formally named on Friday, after which a process will take place to train her new crew, transfer her on to the Defence Shipping Register, etc. Then, in the autumn, the ship will go to sea as the RN Navy X dedicated experimentation ship.
