Decommissioned ww2-era ships of the Philippine Navy, seen partially submerged during Typhoon Paeng. 1. BRP Pangasinan, was a Miguel Malvar-class corvette of the Philippine Navy. She was originally built as USS PCE-891, a PCE-842-class patrol craft for the United States Navy during World War II. 2. BRP Cebu was also Miguel Malvar-class corvette of the Philippine Navy. She was originally built as USS PCE-881, a PCE-842-class patrol craft for the United States Navy during World War II and patrolled the Alaskan coast during that war. 3. BRP Rajah Humabon) was a former destroyer escort of the United States Navy, USS Atherton, and a former frigate of the Philippine Navy. She was the last World War II-era destroyer escort/frigate active in her fleet, and one of the oldest active warships in the world USN Cannon-class destroyer
EA-18G Growler Returns to the Skies Five Years After a Mid-Air Collision. WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wa. -- An EA-18G Growler attached to Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129, successfully completed a functional check flight at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, Oct. 17, marking the end of a complex transformation process for an aircraft thought to be beyond repair. This five-year effort demonstrates large-scale teamwork between multiple organizations over an extended timeline.

Allied Patrolling in the Southern Barents Sea.
Norwegian and British Naval vessels recently conducted an operational patrol in international waters of the southern Barents Sea.Closely shadowed by Russian Navy vessels, frigate HMS Northumberland, replenishment vessel RFA Tiderace and frigate KNM Thor Heyerdahl recently conducted a patrol in the southern parts of the Barents Sea.

HMS Dauntless is back in Portsmouth after three months "testing her new engines to the limit", say the Royal Navy. "The Type 45 destroyer has undergone extensive trials around the UK throughout the summer, laying the foundations for her five sister ships as the entire class of Portsmouth based air defence ships undergo the same upgrade." The statement also adds that the trials have gone well.
The powerful elegance of North Carolina-class battleship USS Washington (BB-56) churns through the Pacific after returning to the following repairs in the spring of 1944. She would resume her position as Admiral Willis Lee's flagship in June after missing more than three months of the war; a collision with Indiana (BB-58) in February had sent her home for a new bow, opening up a brief period where Washington's sister North Carolina (BB-55) hosted Admiral Lee.
