On this day in 1980 HMS Swiftsure is the first nuclear submarine to be refitted & refuelled at the new HMNB Devonport Submarine Refit Complex. The complex has been evolved & is still in use, preparing to welcome the Astute Class. HMS Swiftsure paid off in 1992 & awaits disposal in Rosyth
