On this day in 1996, the Type 23 Frigate HMS Sutherland is launched at Scotstoun. She is currently in refit in HMNB Devonport and will be the last Type 23 to receive the upgrade from Sea Wolf to Sea Ceptor missiles as well as major upgrades to her propulsion and sensors.
