Indonesian Navy, Koarmada RI, Balikpapan 21 May 2023 – The 23rd Trisila Operations Task Force of the Republic of Indonesia Fleet Command (Koarmada RI) has arrived at the Indonesian Navy Base (Lanal) Balikpapan.

Chinese military planners have allegedly run a war game of a hypersonic missile attack on a United States Carrier Strike Group in the South China Sea, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports. After running the simulation tens of times, they found that a barrage of 24 hypersonic missiles would be enough to obliterate the fleet in short order.


 

Families day on HMS Dauntless. It was a pleasure to host the families and friends of our Ship's Company on board today. Personnel were invited to bring guests to experience life on board a warship. Everyone was treated to a great display by the ship's embarked Wildcat and other entertainment.

Istanbul. TCG ULUÇALİREİS submarine (S-338), (Ex Tench class USS Thornback SS 582) which is exhibited at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, was towed by the TCG ALEMDAR submarine rescue ship (A-582) for maintenance and brought to Gölcük Shipyard.

The Royal Navy's HMS Iron Duke has returned to sea for the first time since a major refit that began in 2019. The Type 23 frigate is one of the Navy's most versatile warships and has been undergoing life extension work at Devonport naval base. She last sailed under her own power in 2017, but has since begun sea trials to test all of the changes and improvements.

US Navy owned research vessel Petral damaged by toppling over in dry dock now on the tidal berth in Leith, Scotland. Significant damage to the starboard bow will need temporary repair before Tug Atlantic Salvor, that has served US Navy previously which has arrived,but unknown if Petrel will be towed back to the US for repair, or scrapping.





 

Of the eight Type 21 (Amazon Class) frigates built, Lead ship Amazon 1974,now there is only one frigate in active service today, the PNS Tariq, former HMS Ambuscade, 1975, then commissioned in 1993 with Pakistan.

USS Potomac (AG-25), formerly USCGC Electra, was Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidential yacht from 1936 until his death in 1945. On August 3, 1941, she played a decoy role while Roosevelt held a secret conference to develop the Atlantic Charter. USS Potomac and USS Sequoia are the last two existing U.S. presidential yachts, after USS Williamsburg was scrapped in January 2016.[3] Potomac is now preserved in Oakland, California, as a National Historic Landmark and the only presidential yacht open to the public.

Departing from Portsmouth with cutting-edge engines – the first of her kind to undergo the Power Improvement Programme – the Type 45 destroyer has set course for the Caribbean.
