On this day 20 years ago, in 2003, the nuclear powered submarine, HMS Splendid left Gare Loch for the last time to decommission HMNB Devonport. She was the 1st RN sub fitted with, and to fire the Tomahawk missile (Kosovo 99) and was still firing them in her final patrol (Iraq).
