On this day 70 years ago, the last active Type 14 "Captain" or "Blackwood" Class anti-submarine frigate "HMS Dundas", 1,456 tons, launched 1953, commissioned 1956. At Portsmouth Navy Days, August 1980. She was broken up in 1983.

Naval vessels from various countries, docked at Portsmouth Naval Base. Taking part in the International Fleet Review which was part of the Trafalgar 200 celebrations. 2005.
The Turkish Navy's TCG Alemdar submarine rescue mother ship on a visit to Plymouth leaving the Sound tonight. The vessel is designed to perform subsea and surface search and rescue missions under various sea conditions.
Today in 1999, HMS Bangor was commissioned. She was the last RN Ship to be accepted in the 20th Century. Of the 12 RN Sandown Class Minehunters built only BANGOR remains in service as mine-hunting moves towards autonomous vessels from mother ships.
