On this day in 2008, the Amphibious Landing Ship HMS Intrepid left Portsmouth under tow for the last time to be broken up in Liverpool. The Falklands veteran served the Royal Navy for 32 years and was the last British warship built by the John Brown Shipyard in the Clyde.
