On this day, and the 2 weeks that followed in 1991, Royal Navy Lynx Helicopters from HM Ships: BRAZEN, GLOUCESTER, CARDIFF & MANCHESTER neutralised 25% of the Iraqi Navy at Bubiyat Channel using the Sea Skua anti-ship missile.
