HMSQNLZ set to leave Rosyth sometime between 19th - 24th July (subject to weather and tidal windows) following completion of work to replace both propellor shafts.

On this day in 1943, aircraft flying from USS Ranger (CV-4), destroyed 5 German ships and damaged another 7 during Operation Leader in Norway. USS Ranger was the U.S. Navy's first purpose-built carrier and the only one from the pre-war era not to engage the Japanese in battle.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
