Located at Pier III, Tanjung Intan Cilacap Port, Cilacap Naval Base welcomed the arrival of the Republic of Indonesia Ship (KRI) Ahamd Yani-351 July 7. EX Royal Netherlands, modified Leander, Van Speijk class, built in 1965. Still in commission.

The Italian minehunter ITS Rimini has successfully completed the training course on the use of the autonomous underwater vehicle Hugin. The specialist team is now able to map the seabed up to 3,000 meters, identifying mines, wrecks and submerged objects.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
