Plainview (AGEH-1) lifts her hull from the waters of Puget Sound during tests by her builder, Lockheed Shipbuilding and Construction Co., Seattle, WA. 20 June 1968. The remains of ex-Plainview (AGEH-1) resting on a mud flat near Astoria.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
