Royal Navy destroyer HMS Dragon is breathing fire once more and eyeing a return to the fleet in 2024 as work to install new engines reaches a notable milestone.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
