This drone video, via Michael Girvan, shows the arrival yesterday of two 100-tonne cranes at the BAE Systems shipyard in Govan, destined for the brand new, and almost topped out, frigate factory.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
