Naval News and Photos with David Arkwright: On this day in 1982 Leander Class Frigate, HMS Bacchanti was transferred to the RNZ Navy. First Commissioned in 1969 she served the UK and New Zealand as HMNZS Wellington, for over 30 years. Finally decommissioned in 2000 she was later sunk as an artificial diving reef in the Cook Strait.
