It wasn't only sailing boats you used to see on the Forth and Clyde canal at Maryhill, in the 1950s you might have spotted a midget submarine. XE9, sub in the first two pictures, was built in 1944. Pictured here in 1952, she was on her way from the Clyde to Grangemouth, to be scrapped.
