The British Navy strike group recently visited Singapore on its 30,000-mile long journey through more than 40 countries with the mission of strengthening British diplomatic relations in the Indo-Pacific region . HMS Queen Elizabeth, which will reach operational capacity in December 2023, carries 18 Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jets .
The UK Government announced three days ago that the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier was heading towards the Bay of Bengal "in a powerful demonstration of the UK-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership agreed by both prime ministers in May 2021."
The Carrier Strike Group also includes ships from the United States Navy, the Dutch Navy, and the United States Marine Corps Marines, as well as air assets of 617 Sqn, 820 NAS, 815 NAS, and 845 NAS.
The United Kingdom recently announced that it will permanently deploy two warships in Asian waters, where the United States and its Western allies seek to curb China's expansion.
