1. HMS Lord Clive was built at Harland & Wolff, Belfast, laid down on 9th January 1915 and launched on 10th June 1915. The design is near identical to the Abercrombie-class, note the distinctive bulge under the water line, she was under-powered, with speeds of only 6-8 knots.
2. Heavier guns were considered, but lack of spare available guns and turrets meant the 12-inch MkVIII guns were used instead. She also was armed with a pair of 12-pdr QF guns as secondary armament.
3. In late 1917 HMS Lord Clive was drydocked in Plymouth, she underwent modifications to receive a single enormous new 18-inch aft gun.
This gun would be taken off the battlecruiser HMS Furious which was being heavily modified for aircraft trials at the time.
