On this day in 1945, HMAS Australia was attacked by Japanese Kamikaze aircrafts while supporting United States amphibious landings in the Lingayen Gulf, Philippines. 25 of her crew were killed and 30 wounded. Camera HMAS Australia showing damage incurred from the attacks.
