Norwegian coastguard vessel NoCGV Nordkapp has been shadowing the Russian battlecruiser RFS Peter the Great for several days in international waters to the west of Norway. Battlecruiser put to sea at the start of NATO exercise Cold Response22.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
