Reports that HMS Prince of Wales propellor shaft misalignment was known about before she left builders in Rosyth (Sept 2019) but deemed "within tolerance". ?

First RN weapon engineers train in San Diego to maintain Mk45 Mod 4A 5-inch gun that will equip the Type 26 frigates.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
