Potentially new USV spotted in Portsmouth, England, November 11, 2024,
Stores Basin, Sembawang Dockyard, Singapore, 1974. RFA TIDESURGE and RFA TIDESPRING visiting with HMS LONDONDERRY, HMS SYCLLA, HMS DANAE, HMS CHICHESTER, HMAS VENDETTA, HMS HYDRA, HMS ARIADNE, HMS WASPERTON, HMS YARNTON, HMNZS OTAGO,
Naval vessels from various countries, docked at Portsmouth Naval Base. Taking part in the International Fleet Review which was part of the Trafalgar 200 celebrations. 2005.
On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
