In 2019, after 20 years of constant service, HMS St Albans arrived in Plymouth to prepare for refit. Now after 4 years, the revamp of the ship nears an end as crew move back on board to prepare the frigate for renewed operations.

On This Day in 1918, the newly commissioned HMS GLATTON suffered a fire in a magazine whilst in Dover. Due to the proximity of an ammunition ship she was torpedoed by Vice Admiral Keyes to prevent a larger disaster. She was moved later and now rests under the current ferry terminal. Loss of 98 men.
